Maryland PTA Arts in Education Reflections Program

Fri, 10/26/2018 - 2:18pm

“Arts education is critical for helping students develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities.” –Megan Chernin

The National PTA believes that the arts, music, literature, dance, drama, and visual arts are central to learning. Infusion of the arts in elementary, secondary, and continuing education curricula is key to the development of students. Local, regional, state, and national opportunities are available for young artists in Pre-K through grade 12 to be recognized for their creativity. We are proud to present our nation's best reflections in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and the visual arts. Over the years, the Maryland PTA has had National PTA Winners.

6 Categories for Entry:

  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Photography
  • Visual Arts

There is also a Special Artist Division, which is an option for students with disabilities who receive services under IDEA or Section 504. This offers modified rules and guidelines to ensure that every student has the chance to be part of the National PTA Reflections program.

Submissions are due November 26th. Forms can be found in the media center.
