Do you have a student who is interested in strengthening their leadership skills? Thomas Viaduct Middle School applied for the County Executive's Achieve 24/7 Initiative through the Department of Community Resources and Services and will be offering three interested TVMS students (entering grade 7 or 8 in the fall of 2019) tuition to the UMBC Middle School Experience in Leadership. This weeklong program is hosted by UMBC from July 21-July 27, 2019. During their stay, students will receive the full college experience by touring the campus, sleeping in a dorm room, and attending sessions, including interactive workshops, group projects, small group coaching sessions, and recreational activities.

Interested students should visit our Front Office for an application. Applications must be completed and submitted no later than the close of the student day on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. A staff panel will review all submitted applications, and three students will be selected to attend. Students will need to provide transportation to UMBC at the beginning of the week and pick up at the end of the week, and there is a $25 registration fee. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Armstead at samantha_armstead@hcpss.org.
