Over the last 50 years the National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students discover their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, advance artistic knowledge, increase confidence, and discover a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. This year’s theme is "Heroes Among Us."
This program gives students the opportunity to use their creativity and showcase their talents. The program calls for unique interpretation of the theme through the arts. Entries can be submitted in dance choreography, visual arts, photography, film production, literature, and music composition. There is also a Special Artist Division, which welcomes students with all abilities and offers non-artistic accommodations (e.g., adaptive technology, transcribing, holding a camera) for students to participate fully in PTA Reflections. Assistants must refrain from being involved in the artistic process (e.g. developing an artist statement, choreography, music lyrics, storyboards, etc.) Student recognition and awards are announced as part of the Special Artist Division.
Official rules and entry forms are available in the TVMS Media Center and submissions must be received no later than November 26, 2018. Entries can be submitted to the front office with the attention to the PTSA. Winning entries and all participants will be celebrated at a ceremony in the spring.
